Construction Control Goes Pink!
For the past 6 years, Canberra's construction industry has helped to raise money for Breast Cancer Research by sponsoring a number of our female staff members in the 10km Mother's Day Classic fun run. Rather than spoiling your Mum with breakfast in bed or flowers, drag her and/or a friend around Lake Burley Griffin to complete the 10km. After all, it's all in the name of a good cause.
For the last 3 years, the ladys of Construction Control have been the highest fundraisers for the ACT. They have raised around $45,000 so far.
Did You Know...
- Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women.
- In Australia, 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
- More than 2,800 women will die from the disease in a single year.
- Despite the significant loss of life, survival prospects continue to improve. Over 96% of women will survive at least one year after diagnosis, and almost 87% will survive five years or more - a 15% increase since the 1980s.
