Managing Director

Pete joined Construction Control as Managing Director in 2015 following several years with both Laing O’Rourke and Lend Lease. Pete has a proven track record of success in senior management positions and has successfully led teams through the conversion and delivery of major projects in a number of sectors and regions. As Managing Director, Pete takes great pride in the legacy established by Construction Control since its inception in 1988, as this has established a strong, resilient and reliant platform to launch Construction Control into its next phase. The last few years of Construction Control has included delivery of many significant projects and the overall growth of the business.


Peter Wright

Director

Peter joined Construction Control as a Director in 2001 following a long career with Lend Lease. Peter’s contribution to the company has been a major factor in Construction Control’s growth. Peter is a very experienced resource who has a proven ability to project manage large complex projects and build strong teams that achieve results via sound project management disciplines. Peter is highly regarded and respected within the property industry in Canberra


Ian Bowyer

Director

Ian joined Construction Control as a Director in 2001.  Ian is one of Canberra’s most experienced construction personalities. He took responsibility for the construction of the Brindabella Business Park at the Canberra Airport.  With the growth of the company, Ian moved to the $280m Canberra Centre expansion project. Ian is highly respected by his clients and by the commercial sub contract market. Prior to joining Construction Control Ian worked for Lend Lease for eighteen years.


Chris McKee

Chief Financial Officer

Chris is a Chartered Accountant, has an MBA and is responsible to the Board on the financial and corporate functions of the Construction Control group. The role encompasses all financial and commercial activities of the Group, including overseeing project finances, strategic finance issues and corporate compliance. Chris has over twenty years finance experience, in a broad range of industries including professional services, hospitality, accommodation services, consulting engineering and technology. Chris worked for five years in audit, prior to moving to commerce. Chris is a member of the company’s management team and his contribution on a broader company issues is highly valued.


John Gasson

Founder

John established Construction Control in 1988 and quickly developed a reputation for delivering high quality projects that meet the needs of his client. John has steadily and strategically grown the company such that it is now one of Canberra’s largest businesses, operating along the eastern seaboard, delivering property related project management services to a wide range of Government and private clients.


Ross Cleaver

Operations Manager

Ross is an experienced and diligent construction professional, having worked across a multitude of commercial, retail, residential and specialised projects in NSW and the ACT. A background covering a wide and varied range of projects has developed Ross’ ability to liaise with representatives in all facets of the construction industry including the key competencies of construction planning and coordination. His highly developed skills led to his appointment as Construction Control’s most senior Project and Construction Manager in 2010 and Operations Manager in 2013.


Deann Wade

Finance Manager

Deann is a CPA and has been with Construction Control since 2010.  She has more than 20 years finance experience in a wide range of industries, including banking, hospitality, manufacturing and the property sector, gaining an extensive knowledge of and skills in accounts. In the Finance Manager role Deann is responsible for the Group Statutory and Management Reporting.  Deann manages the transactional processing staff, the Treasury function and ensures that the company meets its financial, legal, tax and compliance obligations.


Peter Griffiths

Group HSE Manager

Peter joined Construction Control in 2017 after nearly a decade with Laing O’Rourke. Peter is an accomplished health, safety and environment professional who brings a range of skills and experiences gathered from construction projects delivered in a number of sectors including infrastructure, rail, defence and commercial construction. Peter is committed not only to the continual improvement of the Company’s accredited business management system, but also the ongoing development of staff and key subcontractors through building positive, productive relationships. Peter is a senior management resource and his contribution on all issues is sought and valued.


David Hill

NSW State Manager

David joined Construction Control in 2009 and in 2015 relocated to lead the business activity and growth in Sydney. David is now responsible for the company’s NSW operations as well as being the Project Director on the Castle Towers Expansion Project at Castle Hill. Before moving to Sydney David worked across a range of high profile private sector and government projects in Canberra. He is committed to current projects and growing Construction Control in Sydney while still making valuable contributions to company-wide strategy and broader business development.  David is a talented, charismatic and driven member of the company’s management team and is extremely well respected within the construction industry.


Boris Hahn

QLD State Manager

Boris is a Civil Engineer (Honours) graduate, who joined Construction Control as a Site Engineer in 2005 on the Section 88 project in Canberra.  Boris then advanced to the position of Senior Site Engineer on various major projects including Majura Office Precinct at Canberra Airport and College of Business and Economics at the ANU.  Following on from the success of these projects, Boris was promoted to the role of Project Manager and lead the project teams for Costco at Canberra Airport and 28 Sydney Avenue in Forrest. In 2015 Boris was important in the establishment of Construction Control’s market presence in Queensland, delivering high quality projects in the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast regions. Boris’ project management knowledge, wide range of experience and strong client relationships has cemented Construction Control’s success and future in Queensland.


Lauren Couter

Project Director

Lauren is a mature and experienced Project Director who joined Construction Control in 2006.  Prior to joining Construction Control, Lauren gained experience with Tier 1 companies, including John Holland and United Group. Lauren has experience in large scale commercial construction and fitouts, particularly educational and technically complex facilities.  Her projects include Fairbairn Precinct at Canberra Airport, Majura Park Shopping Centre, ANU RN Robertson Building, Florey Building and Canberra Girls Grammar School Projects. Lauren’s strength lies in her ability to create a working environment that promotes a productive team environment, and by forging strong and positive working relationships between the client, consultants and subcontractors. Lauren is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and is a member of the ACT Property Council Economic Development & Infrastructure Committee.


Matt Adam

Project Director

Matt joined Construction Control in 2005 following several years with the NSW Department of Public Works and a national Quantity Surveyor. Matt has a diverse range of experience in construction projects through his 17 years in the industry, including commercial, retail, government, education, health and correctional facilities. Matt was an integral part of the Canberra Centre Expansion project team, then delivering a number of complex and significant projects at the Australian National University over a period of six years, followed by the Qantas Lounges and Qantas Integration works at the Canberra Airport Terminal and the Alexander Maconochie Centre Additional Facilities project. Matt takes a proactive and positive approach to resolving issues with an emphasis on developing close working relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure their objectives are achieved.


Joe Shevlin

Project Director

Joe joined Construction Control in 2007 after a period of time working with smaller construction firms on government commercial fit outs within Canberra. Joe began his time with Construction Control as a site engineer working on the development of the Brindabella Business Park and has worked his way through the ranks to be instrumental in the senior management of some of Construction Controls largest projects including the Canberra airport multi-user terminal, Vibe Hotel and the recently completed Department of Home Affairs headquarters at the Brindabella Business Park. Joe takes great pride in his attention to detail, enthusiasm and the relationships he continues to build within the industry.
