Canberra Airport Vibe Hotel

The $50 million, 4.5-star hotel built by Construction Control and operated by Toga Far East Hotels features 191 rooms including 12 suites over six levels and nine apartments and includes a reception, conferencing facilities, a restaurant and bar and lounges.

The concept for the hotel was to create not only a hotel that served the many business and leisure travellers that pass through this gateway but to bond the business park together and establish a usable space for business meetings, informal coffee catch ups and formal dinner events. The space needed to afford its users an accessible and functional space while also providing the privacy, cleanliness and warmth that is to be expected from an International Airport accommodation facility. With a design based on circular geometries inspired by Walter Burley Griffin’s plan for Canberra, renowned architecture practice Construction Control has unveiled Australia’s newest hotel in the

nation’s capital.
In a sector that has in recent years been dominated by refurbishment due to development costs, the Canberra Vibe Hotel is part of a resurgence in new hotel developments that push the design envelope.  The uniquely Canberran hotel features a striking circular form adjacent to the airport approach creating a bold, landmark entry that tapers towards the award-winning Canberra International Airport.
